제목 Effect of Quercetin-functionalized Silk/hydroxyapatite Scaffolds Using Bone marrow-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Bone Healing.
초록 Silk is a biomaterial for biomedical applications because it has several attractive properties such as biocompatibility and biodegradability. Quercetin(Qtn) is a type of flavonoids found in fruit, and has been reported to affect bone metabolism. For increasing osteogenic differentiation, Qtn was used in combination with silk as scaffolds. Hydroxyapatite(HAp) is biodegradable and osteoconductive. We determined the physical and chemical characterizations of Qtn/silk/HAp scaffolds using SEM, compressive strength, porosity, and FT-IR, etc. Also, osteogenic differentiation of rabbit bone marrow stem cells(rBMSCs) cultured in scaffold was evaluated by using ALP assay, MTT assay, RT-PCR, and SEM. These results showed that 25μM Qtn/silk/HAp sponge increased cell proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rBMSCs in vitro during 4 weeks. From these results, it could be suggested that 25μM Qtn/silk/HAp sponge can be applied as one of potential biomaterials for bone regeneration.
