Among Pluronics, both F68 (molecular weight: 8,400) and F127 (molecular weight: 12,600) were approved by the FDA as biomaterials for a living body. But Pluronic F68 has a limitation as an injectable in-situ gel because it does not show temperature-responsive sol-gel transition. Since many studies have focused on how to overcome this limitation, we developed novel temperature-sensitive, biocompatible Pluronic F68 derivatives. Cell-recognition small peptide, Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp (GRGD) peptide was grafted to F68-L-lactide- 4-methacryloxyethyl trimellitic anhydride (FLM) and F68-glycolide-4-methacryloxyethyl trimellitic anhydride (FGM) respectively. These functional polymers were characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, GPC, elemental analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis. Preliminary data suggested that GRGD-grafted F68 derivatives could exhibit sol-gel transition |
