Affect of DBP Gel on Intervertebral Disc Regeneration; in vivo. |

DBP affects to cell proliferation has been used as biomaterials. In this work, we developed DBP gel and seeded with AF and NP cells into a gel, respectively. The samples were implanted in rats and retrieved at certain time of periods. Histological analysis, gene expression, sGAG and collagen contents analyses were performed to elucidate in vivo test. We confirmed cell viability of DBP gel improved water uptake ability and biodegradation. H&E, Safranin-O and Alcian Blue stain were revealed progressive tissue formation in site. RT-PCR was assessed to measure mRNA expression for Type I, Type II collagen, aggrecan, osteonectin and GAG quantity from disc cells in gels. We observed disc cells in DBP gel strongly expressed their particular mRNA and produced sGAG in. These results indicated DBP gel which has the cell viability to utilize as functional gel might be useful for intervertebral disc regeneration.
