The Osmotic Pressure of Aqueous Globular Protein Solutions: Generalized Lennard-Jones Potential Model |
초록 |
A new mathematical model is established to represent the osmotic pressure of binary globular protein solutions under different conditions. A new pair potential-energy function, the generalized Lennard-Jones potential, is proposed to explain the interaction between protein and salt molecules. The energy parameters are then obtained from the experimental cloud-point temperature (CPT) data for lysozyme/salt solutions and used to describe the osmotic pressure of the corresponding systems with no additional model parameters. The proposed model agrees fairly well with the experimental data. |
