| 제목 | HIF-2α (EPAS1) is a catabolic regulator of osteoarthritic cartilage destruction |
| 초록 | Osteoarthritic (OA) cartilage destruction is caused by an imbalance between anabolic and catabolic factors. Here, we show that hypoxia inducible factor-2α (HIF-2α) is a catabolic transcription factor of OA cartilage destruction. Our results, obtained by in vitro cell-based studies and in vivo animal model-based study, collectively demonstrate that HIF-2α causes cartilage destruction by regulating MMPs, ADAMTS4, NOS2, and PTGS2 target genes. |
