제목 Dispersion polymerization of MMA in supercritical carbon dioxide : A comparative study with different PDMS based surfactants
초록 Methylmethacrylate undergoes dispersion polymerization in supercritical carbon dioxide in presence of fluorinated or siloxane-based, homo, block or graft polymeric surfactants. In our research, we are carrying out a comparative study of surfactant activity of various Polydimethyl siloxanes based surfactants in polymerization of MMA in an environmentally benign solvent, supercritical carbon dioxde.
We are focusing on the surfactant activity of a variety of commercially available and simply modified PDMS surfactants with respect to the PMMA yield, molecular weight, particle size and most importantly particle morphology. Our aim is that our research would be much useful for industries to find a suitable PDMS surfactant, when they commercialize the production of PMMA in supercritical fluids.
