Understanding the electrical charge transport is of a fundamental importance for applying wide selections of materials (ranging from polymeric/molecular semiconductors, nanocarbon materials, and inorganic nanomaterials) into future electronics. Despite their distinct physical properties, electrical conduction in these materials commonly involves charge transport through continuum of disordered states. In particular, the transport in these materials mostly follows a thermally assisted process such that enhanced conduction is observed at high temperatures, with only a few exceptions in case of single crystalline materials. My previous and current research interest focus on understanding charge transport in various disordered materials that are applicable to the emerging field so-called as the flexible/stretchable and printed electronics. In this presentation, findings from assemblies of semiconductor nanocrystals, and polymeric/molecular semiconductors will be discussed. |
