Polythiophene derivatives containing either benzothiadiazole or carbazole units have been successfully synthesized. The polymers were characterized, using various analytical techniques including DSC, thermogravimetric analysis, cyclic voltametry, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, etc. The energy levels of HOMO and LUMO of the materials were also estimated. Polymeric solar cells were fabricated using the synthesized polymers and PCBM as electron-donor and electron-acceptor materials, respectively. The experimental results will be presented in detail. |
