Indium oxide nanoparticles are cubic structure that used in transparent conducting oxide, hot mirror (infrared reflector which penetrate visible light) and optical coating. Over the past few years, indium oxide had been produced with the method of dissolving indium by an acid, neutralizing by a base and pyrolysis by heating. However, these methods are complex, a number of indium oxide particles are contained in the solution waste. To enhance these problems of the process, we developed a method of Plasma-assisted electrolysis (PAE). By using this technique reversely, the oxidized bulk can be detached from the surface forming nano-sized particle with a uniform morphology. However, when the mole of electrolyte increased, the cubic morphology of particles disappeared. The XRD pattern of the as prepared powders consists of indium oxide and indium hydroxide. After annealing these powder at 500℃for 2 hours, we obtained indium oxide. |
