Mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs) has been believed to be a type of membrane materials overcoming both the limit of the polymeric membranes and inorganic materials. Among functional materials studied in MMM, zeolite has shown promising potentials as a filler of MMMs. However, nonselective voids originated from poor interfacial contact between the interface of the polymer and zeolite are still a major drawback in preparation of MMM with zeolite. Motivated by this, we have studied the idea of utilizing a zeolite@MOF core-shell structure as a filler for MMM where inside zeolite plays a role to provide selective diffusion pathways while outside MOF builds flawless interfacial bonding with polymer matrix without nonselective voids. In addition, gas permeation properties of resulted membrane will be discussed at the end. |
