Pitch synthesis from various petroleum residues and conditions |

In this study, to confirm the relationship between activation energy and pitch synthesis depending on the type of petroleum residues, pitch was prepared from petroleum residues and activation energy was obtained by TGA pyrolysis curve of petroleum residue. The petroleum residues were prepared by using a fluid catalytic cracking decant oil (FCC-DO) and Pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO). The petroleum residues were pyrolytically polymerized in an inert atmosphere at 400℃ using a 500 ml reactor. The activation energies of residues were determined by the Kissinger and Flynn-wall-ozawa equations. The softening points and yields of the synthesized pitches under the same thermal polymerization conditions and the activation energies could be controllable depending on the type of petroleum residue and synthesis conditions. |
