제목 Synthesis and photovoltaic properties of benzothiazole - based novel organic dyes for dye-sensitized solar cells
초록 Dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs) have attracted much attention since Grtzel and co-workers reported high efficiency up to 11% at standard AM 1.5 sun light. Although Ru - based sensitizers have still represented the most high efficiency, metal - free organic sensitizers have also been attracting due to many advantages, such as their high molar extinction coefficients and facile modification as well as low production cost. We designed and synthesized benzothiazole - based novel metal-free organic dyes for application in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). New organic sensitizers were composed of triphenylamine as the electron donor, benzothiazole units (containing benzene, thiophene and furan) as the π-conjugated bridge, and cyanoacrylic acid group as the electron acceptor. Photovoltaic cells were prepared with the synthesized organic dye-sensitizers. Their photovoltaic properties were measured and analyzed by the length and structures of the π-conjugated bridge.
