제목 Effect of Physical/Biological Stimulations on Peripheral Nerve Regeneration through Nerve Guide Conduit with Selective Permeability
초록 The sufficient functional recovery of damaged peripheral nerves has been considered as one of the clinical challenges. Artificial nerve guide conduits (NGCs) to bridge the gap between severed nerve stumps are widely accepted as an useful alternative that creates a favorable environment for nerve regeneration. In this study, we applied physical (ultrasound) and biological (nerve growth factor, NGF) stimulations at the asymmetrically porous polycaprolactone (PCL)/Pluronic F127 nerve guide conduit (NGC) for enhanced nerve regeneration. From the results, it was recognized that the asymmetrically porous NGC group with both physical and biological stimulations had more rapid nerve regeneration behavior than the NGC groups with single stimulation or without stimulation.
