제목 Synthesis & Characterization of Alkaline Polymer Electrolyte membrane containing fluorenyl groups for Fuel Cell Application
초록 We design a polymer containing fluorenyl groups (15%, 20% & 25%) to prepare a stable alkaline membrane for high ion exchange capacity (IEC). Chloromethylation is the key step to prepare anion exchange membrane. We carried out chloromethylation of poly(arylene ether sulfone)s containing fluorenyl groups in 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane using chloromethylmethyl ether as chloromethylating agent , zinc chloride as catalyst and thionyl chloride as accelerating agent at 30 °C for 6 h. We got 100% substitution at four positions of fluorenyl group (i.e. 2.0 chloromethyl groups per repeating unit, 1H NMR). The subsequent quaternization and ion exchange reactions are now going on.
