Effect of single-walled carbon nanotubes and N-benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate on epoxy system |

In this paper, epoxy composites were prepared by adding single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) as filler and N-benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate (BPH) as a cationic latent thermal catalyst for curing. The contents of SWCNT were varied from 0 to 1 wt.% and BPH was used as a fixed amount. The effects on mechanical properties of the composites were measured using universal testing machine for fracture toughness and the morphologies after fracture test were observed by scanning electron microscopy. These results indicated that SWCNT showed an important role in decreasing the mechanical behaviors of epoxy composites. |
