In this work, epoxy composites were prepared by adding single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) as filler and N-benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate (BPH) as a cationic latent thermal catalyst for curing. In addition, ozone treatment of SWCNT (O-SWCNT) were attempted for interfacial adhesion and the contents of O-SWCNT were varied from 0 to 1 wt.%. After that, the effects on mechanical properties of the composites were measured using universal testing machine for fracture toughness and the morphologies after the fracture test were observed by scanning electron microscopy. These results indicated that SWCNT had an important role in enhancing the mechanical behaviors and ozone treatment increased interfacial adhesion between SWCNT and epoxy resin. |
