제목 Exciton Dissociation and Charge Transport Enhancement in Organic Photovoltaics with QD:NCNT Hybrid Nanomaterials
초록 The power conversion efficiency of current state-of-art devices is still far from the expected value of an ideal device. One of the crucial technological challenges is the inefficient exciton dissociation and the low carrier mobility within organic active layer. We demonstrate the effective enhancement of exciton dissociation and electron transport in the active layer of bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells by incorporating the hybrid nanomaterials consisting of indium phosphite quantum dots (InP QDs)/N-doped multi-walled carbon nanotubes (NCNTs). As a consequence of such synergistic behavior, BHJ solar cells made from poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) semiconducting polymer and indene−C60 bisadduct (ICBA) attained the power conversion efficiency from 4.68 % (reference cell with pure P3HT:ICBA active layer) to 6.02 %, which correspond to 29 % enhancement. This is one of the highest values, ever achieved from organic solar cells employing widely used P3HT polymer.
