Fabrication of Large Area Electrochromic Films by Solution Processable and Patternable Poly(3,4-alkylenedioxy-thiophene)s |

We explored and firstly reported the patterned electrochromic devices (ECDs) of large sized window-type and flexible devices from photo-patternable thiophene derivatives. Conductivity-controllable and photo-patternable conductive polythiophene derivatives (poly(3,4-alkylenedioxythiophene)s (PXDOTs)) without etching process were synthesized to create two different colors and their large area films were prepared by solution casting polymerization (SCP) which is easily accessible and widely applicable method, and applied to patterned informative electrochromic devices. We used SCP method to make a photo-patternable large area electrochromic films by photo-functional group introduced monomers. The 7 inch diagonal patterned flexible ECD (12.6 cm x 12.6 cm) was fabricated and showed good electrochromic properties. |
