제목 Controlling distribution and oxidation state of Pt cocatalyst at high content over solvothermal treated-graphitic carbon nitride for visible light hydrogen evolution
초록 Platinum (Pt) cocatalyst has so far contributed to the enhanced photoactivity of the graphitic carbon nitride (CN) photocatalyst for application in photocatalytic H2 production from water splitting process. In this study, platinum nanoparticles were loaded at different amounts through hydrogen reduction process onto the surface of CN modified by solvothermal method (SCN). Compared to pure CN counterpart, SCN photocatalyst containing Pt as a cocatalyst showed an outstanding charge transfer efficiency and photocatalytic performance of H2 production as well, as illustrated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and photoluminescence measurements. It is elucidated that the coexistence of metallic Pt0 and Pt2+ superiorly promoted the photocatalytic H2 evolution performance in which the photoinduced charge separation was facilitated by Pt0 and Pt2+ acted as a key factor to inhibit the undesirable hydrogen backward reaction. In addition, the relationship between O-containing functional groups which were generated onto the surface of CN during the solvothermal process and the distribution of Pt nanoparticles, as well as Pt2+ formation is also further discussed.
