Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are nanoporous materials that have various functions such as chemical separation, gas storage, ion conduction, and catalysis, etc. Among them, Porphyrin-based paddle–wheel frameworks (PPFs) have rarely reported gas adsorption data, despite the various structures reported and the high potential for further application. Based on previous research, 3D PPFs had a fatal drawback of being unable to be activated because the pillar molecules leak out on the harsh activation condition, unlike 2D PPF-1 without pillars. Our research proposes a new activation method that enables activation without exceeding the collapse condition of 3D complex structures. Also, this activation method is expected to be applicable not only for PPFs but also for other structures that were not available to activate due to their fragile structures. |
