Preparation of isotactic poly(acrylonitrile-co-itaconic acid) in the presence of lewis acid through free radical polymerization |
초록 |
Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based copolymer is a well known carbon fiber precursor, which is generally prepared by free radical polymerization (FRP). The composition and structure of PAN precursors largely affect the quality and performances of carbon fiber. Especially, the stereoregularity of PAN is of interest since it can enhance the cyclization reaction of PAN during stabilization process. In this work, PAN copolymers containing approximately 1% of itaconic acid (IA) were prepared in the presence of lewis acid to increase isotacticity of AN. The tacticity of copolymers were controlled by changing the mole ratio of monomers to lewis acid and analyzed by 13C-NMR. The structure and property of PAN copolymers were also studied by FT-IR and DSC. Acknowledgement: This work was supported by a grant from KIST institutional program. |
