Sulfonated Poly(phenylene sulfide sulfone) Multiblock Copolymer for Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell Application |
초록 |
Multiblock copolymers containing sulfonated poly(phenylene sulfide sulfone) hydrophilic blocks (sPSS block) were developed for use in fuel cell application. The sPSS block showed distinct phase separation due to the intrinsic characteristics of phobic and philic oligomers. The sPSS block with an ion exchange capacity of 1.64 meq/g had a conductivity of 28.0 mS/cm at 50% relative humidity and a water uptake of 101.91%. The sPSS block showed MEA (membrane electrode assembly) performance of 1.18 A/cm2 at 100% relative humidity and 0.92 A/cm2 at 50% relative humidity. These results indicate that sPSS block can show enough performance at relatively low humidity. The sPSS block can be a promising candidate as a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel cell application. |
