Melt blends of modified poly (phenylene ether) (mPPE) with polyamide6 (PA6) were prepared with the reactive compatibilizer such as styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer (SMA) by using an internal mixer. The morphology of the blends were characterized with scanning electron microscopy and a transmission electron microscopy, and the rheological properties of these blends were studied by using a rotational rheometer. mPPE/PA6/SMA blends showed smaller dispersed domains and higher complex viscosity than mPPE /PA6 blends due to the reactive compatibilizer SMA. |
