Multifunctional poly (N-isopropylacrylamide)/polythiophene (PNIPAM/PT) core/shell nanoparticles are fabricated via two-step synthetic route. First, PNIPAM, core particles are synthesized via soap-free emulsion polymerization. And then, polythiophene shell is synthesized on the surface of PNIPAM core particle via Fe3+-catalyzed oxidative polymerization. The morphology of (PNIPAM/PT) core/shell nanoparticles are observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) analysis. And the chemical structure of PNIPAM/PT nanoparticles are confirmed by fourier-transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance(1H NMR) measurements. Finally, the change of the conductive and luminescent property of PNIPAM/PT core/shell nanoparticles depending on the temperature is measured by UV-visible spectrometer and 4-point probe method conductivity meter. |
