제목 Friedel-Crafts Acetylation of Toluene over Mesoporous Materials; A Comparison of Microwave and Convetional Heating
초록 Acetylation of aromatics is an interesting reaction and resulting ketones are versatile intermediates in the preparation of more elaborated products. Friedel-Crafts chemistry has been used for acetylation of aromatics since the turn of last century. It is a reaction, in which an active and selective heterogeneous catalyst can replace the conventional homogeneous system. This work is aimed to study the acetylation of toluene with acetic anhydride over mesoporous solid acids and compare two ways of heating microwave and conventional. The effects of temperature, different ratio of reactants and amount and structure of catalyst were studied.
