Increased Anisotropy of Thermally Conductive Polyimide Composite Films based on Magnetically aligned h-BN |

Recently, heat accumulation in the electronic devices is a serious problem for their optimum important influence performance and operation. However, current technology is a simple blending by increasing the amount of high thermal conductive inorganic filler. In this study, thermally conductive polymer composite films based polyimide (PI) and magnetically aligned hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) filler were prepared by a casting method. Hydroxy groups on h-BN surface facilitate the iron oxide attached by electrostatic attraction and the resulting h-BN particles can be aligned under magnetic field. Structure of mh-BN was confirmed by SEM, XPS and thermal diffusivity of the prepared films was measured by a laser flash analyser (LFA-447, Netzsch). It was confirmed that thermal conductivity was changed with depending on the magnetic rearrangement of fillers. |
