제목 Effective adsorption/oxidation properties of Cu-BEA zeolite as hydrocarbon trap during cold start period
초록 Cu-impregnated BEA zeolites are prepared with various Cuamounts. From the CST result, it is revealed that All Cu-BEA zeolites areeffective for adsorbing and low-temperature oxidizing hydrocarbons and,especially, 5 wt.% of Cu loaded BEA zeolite shows highest efficiency. Highadsorption capacity for propene and low temperature oxidation property areneeded to achieve effective HC trap. In this study, it was found that theamount of Cu+ ions is highly related to the propene adsorption and tiny(ca. 1-2 nm) CuO particles on the outer surface of BEA could lower the temperatureof oxidation. Lastly, hydrothermal treat at 800 °C with various time (3-24 h)was used to test long-term stability of HC trap; the CST performance revealedthat the adsorption ability for propene was sharply decreased with timeincreasing. However, for toluene, the efficiency was well maintained.
