Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) based on titanium oxide (TiO2) have been widely investigated as a new type of solar cell because of low production cost, simple structure, and competitive efficiencies. But although efficiency of test cell has been achieved up to 12%, when it turns to module, efficiency decreases dramatically. To overcome these problems, enlargement of sub-module and development of fabrication process for reducing efficiency loss have been studied. Among fabrication steps dye absorption process is one of challenging part. From review papers absorption process takes about 12hrs at room temperature that is not appropriate to apply manufacture system. In order to commercialize DSCs technology, absorption time has to be shorter than 1hr. We have studied the absorption process of Ru dye onto TiO2 electrode with different absorption environment. The DSCs were investigated by a range of electrical methods as well as by UV-Visible spectrometer. |
