제목 Study of PTC Characteristics as Method of Blending with Conductive discharge Nano-Particles Carbon Black and Polymer
초록 We have studied PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient) characteristics of polymer composites with nano-sized carbon black particles prepared by solution blending and melt blending. Polymer and conductive nano-sized particle carbon black composites showed regular resistance of room temperature, when carbon black contents exceeds 35wt% for melt blending composite and 40wt% for solution blending composite. EVA composite showed gradual change of PTC intensity appeared around the melting point and showed maximum at melting point. The resistance of HDPE composite remain unchanged with increase of temperature but start to increase near the melting point of HDPE and showed maximum PTC intensity at the melting point of HDPE. The dispersity of nano sized carbon black particle was observed by SEM and the dispersity of solution blending method was as good as melt blending method. When electric current was applied on PTC materials, initial increase of its resistance started at the curie temperature, the secondary increase started at Tm of matrix polymer and keep increasing up to trip temperature, after that point the resistance remain stable.
