he organic-inorganic hybrid materials can be fabricated by polymerization of the sol-gel derived organo-oligosiloxanes. Both epoxy-oligosiloxane and amine-oligosiloxane were prepared with sol-gel reaction of GPTS and APTS, respectively. In most cases, it is difficult to cure the epoxy-oligosiloxane to be crosslinked. Thus, the hardener for epoxy polymerization has been introduced to be cured easily. The hardeners have various forms including reactive group of OH, NH and so on. In this study, the amine-oligosiloxane was used as a hardener to be participated in the epoxy polymerization as well as a catalyst of epoxy ring-opening polymerization. The fabricated epoxy hybrid material made epoxy network structure embedded with homogenous siloxane nano-clusters. Reaction of epoxy with amine-oligosiloxane enhances curing characteristics to make more crosslinked structure. The dense and crosslinked epoxy hybrid materials were confirmed by thermal analysis and mechanical characterization. |
