Anionic polymerization of methyl methacrylate(MMA) was conducted using a diphenylhexyl potassium(DPHK) as initiator in Tetrohydrofuran(THF). The focus is on using some additives i.e., triethylborane(Et3B) and ligands such as lithium chloride(LiCl), lithium 2-(2-methoxyethoxy) ethoxide(LiOEEM) at various temperature(even at 20℃). It has been found that additives is efficient in preventing the anionic polymerization of MMA from being disturbed by side reaction with ester carbonyl group of MMA. All products were characterized by size exclusion chromatography(SEC), differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance(H1 NMR). |
