제목 Effect of Thermally Stable Metal Nanoparticles as Compatibilizers on Rheological and Thermal Properties of Homopolymer Blends
초록 Polymer blends have provided an easy and effective way to improve material properties, which are determined by interfacial tension between immiscible homopolymers. In conventional polymer researches, diblock copolymers, grafting copolymers and reactive compatibilizers are incorporated as compatibilizers to reduce the interfacial tension. In this study, we synthesized poly(triphenylamine) (PTPA) and thermally stable metal nanoparticles coated with polymers having UV-crosslinkable block, and investigated their role as compatibilizers at the interface between PS/PTPA immiscible homopolymer blends. The PS/PTPA blends incorporating with the gold and CuPt nanoparticles were prepared by solvent casting, followed by thermal annealing in vacuum. The location of nanoparticles are controlled by tuning the ratio between two different blocks of polymers on the nanoparticles. The effect of the nanoparticle location on the morphology as well as thermal and rheological properties is investigated.
