Metal-doped TiO2 crystals with uniform size and enhanced visible light responses was successfully synthesized by using a two-phase solvothermal synthesis approach. The as-synthesis samples were characterized by XRD, TEM, DRS, XPS and BET. From the results of XRD, the metal replacement on the crystal lattice does not change the high crystallinity of the TiO2 structure. UV-vis DRS analysis and XPS studies show that metal was in situ dope in the lattice of TiO2 and the absorption band shifted to a higher wavelength on the metal-doped TiO2 sample compared to the undoped TiO2 sample. Moreover, the photcatalytic activities were evaluated by the decomposition of methylene blue under visible light irradiation. Metal-doped TiO2 sample performed good activity for photocatalytic reaction compared with TiO2-P25. |
