Enhanced gas adsorption property of synthesized MOF in halloysite nanoclay |

New hybrid material was synthesized with halloysite nanotubes and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The inner surface of halloysite was modified with acid to extend the space volume in halloysite. Halloysite was worked on as a nanoreactor to synthesize polymer and MOF inside of the halloysite to enhance the gas adsorption capacity. The synthesized hybrids got enhanced gas adosrption property, and had good stability in solvents because of the barrier of the halloysite. The hybrids were characterized by electron microscopes and IR spectrometry. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method was used to get the data of pore volume, and gas adsorption property of synthesized nano hybrids. The novel product was compared with pristine halloysite on its enhanced gas adsorption capacity through BET measurement. |
