제목 One-Pot In-Situ Formation of Polysulfane-Bearing Block Copolymer Nanoparticles with Tunable Size and Refractive Index
초록 Sulfur-rich polymers have recently received keen interest as high-refractive index materials for optical devices. Since the refractive index of a sulfur-containing polymer is directly related to sulfur content, methods which allow for a precise control over the composition of sulfur-rich polymers are desired. Organic polysulfanes constitute an attractive class of sulfur-rich monomers for high refractive index materials. Controlled polymerization methods for organic polysulfanes, however, have been limited due to the low S-S bond energy of polysulfanes. Herein, we report a novel sulfur-rich block copolymer (BCP) through living ring-opening metathesis polymerization of polysulfane bearing monomer. Due to low solubility intrinsic to sulfur-rich polymers, the BCPs undergo in-situ self-assembly into well-defined nanoparticles with highly uniform size. By varying the length of the sulfur-rich block, the size of nanoparticle as well as the refractive index of the BCP film could be controlled.
