In this study, the influence of ultrasonic on the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid was investigated. The ultrasonic conditions studied parameters of hyaluronic acid concentration, reaction time, temperature and ultrasonic intensity. An ultrasonic probe was used to sonicate hyaluronic acid in jacketed vessel and temperature of the solution was maintained with a circulating fluid. Ultrasonic treatment of hyaluronic acid samples were conducted at 20-100W. Variation in molecular weight and molecular weight dispersion were observed by gel permeation chromatography. Result indicated that intrinsic viscosity and molecular weight of samples decreased exponentially with increasing sonication time. Rates of intrinsic viscosity and molecular weight degrease increased linearly with ultrasonic intensity. |
