제목 Adsorption Characteristics of Reactive Dye onto Biosorbent
초록 Decolorization of reactive dye onto dead cells of brewery yeast collected from a beer brewery was studied initial pH, temperature and the amount of adsorbent. in a batch system The adsorption equilibrium of reactive dye onto the biomass showed to be described by the Freundlich isotherm. The adsorption capacity of Reactive Orange 16 onto the biomass increased with decreasing initial pH and temperature. The biomass exhibited maximum dye uptake at pH 3 due to electrostatic attractions between negatively charged dye anions and positively charged cell surfaces and hydrogen ion actions as a bridging ligand between the yeast cell wall and the dye molecule.  The experimental data can be described effectively by using the pore diffusion model(PDM). Compared with conventional adsorbent GAC and the biomass for adsorption of Reactive Orange 16, adsorption capacity of the biomass is greater than that of GAC.
