제목 Near-Infrared Light-Excited Nanomedicine for Photodynamic Therapy and Imaging
초록 Photodynamic therapy is increasingly recognized as a promising treatment for a variety of diseases. However, a major drawback in the current therapy is the limited penetration depth due to the light absorption and scattering by biological tissues, resulting in ineffective therapeutic effects. Compared with the conventional light source, near-infrared (NIR) irradiation shows larger penetration distance in tissue, lower photodamage effect. However, the photosensitizers (PS) which can efficiently absorb NIR light are still rare. Recently, the upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) opened a new gate for full utilization of currently commercial available PS upon NIR irradiation. Herein, we synthesized UCNPs by hydrothermal method and employed folic acid-conjugated biocompatible block copolymers to improve their stability. Then, high efficient commercial PSs were conjugated to the stable UCNPs. The composition, optical property and morphology of UCNP-based nanomedicine were investigated.
