제목 PP/EVOH 블렌드의 산소 차단 특성
초록 Plastic films with high barrier propeties are usually produced with multi-layer
structure using lamination or co-extrusion process. However, this process requireshigh capital investment and complex process control, and have a limitation ofrecyclability. In this study, in order to solve these problems, the development ofpolypropylene(PP)/ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer(EVOH) blend film with highoxygen barrier property was attempted by utilizing the biaxial orientation process.The effects of compatibilizer content and processing variables such as stretchingratio and temperature on the oxygen permeability and morphology of the blendfilms were investigated. The compatibility of the blends were also evaluated byFT-IR analysis, measurements of tensile properties, and morphological analysis. Itwas revealed that there existed an optimum level of compatibilizer content forobtaining improved barrier properties with a well developed laminar structure.The high stretching ratio(4.5×4.5 in this study) and the stretching temperatureclose to the melting temperature of the neat resin were found to be morefavorable processing conditions in obtaining high barrier blend films.
