In this study, pyrene derivatives having 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) with different linkages (amide (PA1E), ether (PE1E), and urethane (PU1E)) between pyrene and EDOT were synthesized and used to functionalize the surface of MWCNTs via non-covalent method. PEDOT:PSS/functionalized MWCNT nanocomposite solutions were prepared by in-situ polymerization. The electrical and dispersion properties of nanocomposite films prepared from PEDOT:PSS/MWCNT solutions were investigated depending on the type of linkages of pyrene derivatives by 4-point probe method and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), respectively. The sheet resistance of PEDOT:PSS/MWCNT nanocomposites were 22.6 Ω/□ (PA1E), 23.2 Ω/□ (PE1E), 25.2 Ω/□ (PU1E), and 28.2 Ω/□ (pyrene derivative without EDOT, PyPI), respectively. The electrical properties of PEDOT:PSS/MWCNT nanocomposites could be improved with all the pyrene derivatives containing EDOT. |
