제목 | Nanotube-Based Ultrafast Electrochromic Display |
초록 | ([email protected]) Electrochromic display is one of the most attractive candidates for paper-like displays, so called electronic paper, which will bring revolutionary advances in the display technology, owing to attributes such as thin and flexible materials, fast switching time, excellent readability, and low power consumption. However, conventional electrochromic display technologies possess major problems to become a leading candidate for such application: slow response time and incomplete bleaching. The response time for conventional electrochromic display is in the order of few seconds and sometimes it is as slow as few minutes. In order to solve this major problem for electrochromic display, we fabricated electrochromic display devices based on PEDOT, Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), material. PEDOT and its derivatives are an ideal electrochromic materials for the electronic paper due to their good color and mechanical stabilities and facile fabrication. The color-switching rate of the PEDOT is limited by the diffusion rate of counter-ions into the film during the red/ox process. Here, I will present that an extremely fast electrochromic display (switching time less than 10ms) can be fabricated based on well-defined nanotube arrays of PEDOT. The arrayed long-nanotube structure gives a strong coloration for display. |
