제목 Anionic Polymerization of Ethylene Oxide using Potassium Thioacetate as an Initiator and its Functionalization
초록 In this study, poly (ethylene oxide) was synthesized through living anionic polymerization using potassium thioacetate as an initiator. Commercially available thioacetate was dissolved in purified DMSO under high vacuum. After the system was completely degassed in the high vacuum line, purified EO gas was introduced into the reactor through vacuum distillation. The reaction system was heated at 60oC for 12h. The resulting polymer was terminated using 2-bromopropinyl bromide, followed by precipitation in excess diethyl ether. The -thio--brominated PEO was reacted with potassium phthalimide in DMSO at 90oC for 12h. The resulting heterofunctional PEO was deimidated and reduced using NaBH4 in DMSO resulting in the production of α-thio-ω-amino PEO. In this presentation we will report the preliminary results
