Recently, stretchable electronic device have attracted immense interest due to development of an IOT (Internet of Things). Accordingly, hydrogels exhibited suitable properties such as stretchability, self-healing, transparency, and biocompatibility for stretchable electronics device. However, existing hydrogels had low stability to thermal stress. Thus, phase separation between polymer networks and mobile ions occurred at high temperature. This phase separation gives loss of electrical properties to hydrogels. In addition, existing chemically cross-linked hydrogels are unavailable to the solution process. Here, we synthesized polymers with ionic side chains. These ionic side chain prevented the phase separation compared to the common hydrogel that occurred the loss of electrical properties and becoming opaque. In addition, ionic side chain showed high solubility in water. Stretchable thermal sensors were fabricated. This device exhibited highly stable operation in various condition. |
