제목 | Microstructure and mechanical properties of Ta particulate dispersed Cu-based bulk metallic glass composite by spark plasma sintering |
초록 | Bulk metallic glasses (BMG) composite have attracted increasing interest due to their excellent combination of high hardness, strength and good corrosion. Also BMG composites have attracted much attention as a way to obtain the enhanced plasticity compared to monolithic BMGs. One of the ex-situ composite systems, powder metallurgy process, encourages the fabrication of BMG composite with near-net shape and novel properties. In this study, we report the formation route of BMG composites with Ta phase fabricated by consolidation of powders. The Cu-based metallic glass powders produced by high pressure gas atomization were used in starting materials. BMG composites were consolidated by spark plasma sintering process in the supercooled liquid region. Structural characterization was performed by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Uniaxial compression tests were conducted at room temperature at a constant cross head speed of an initial strain rate of 1x10-4s-1. |
