Structural Optimization of Naphthalenediimide-Bithiophene (NDI-T2)-Based n-type Polymers via Side Chain Engineering for High Performance All-Polymer Solar Cells |

The (NDI-T2)-based N-type polymer, (P(NDI2OD-T2)) has been widely studied for OTFTs and all-PSCs due to their high electron mobility and an unconventional micromorphology. To understand the infleunce of side chains on all-PSCs properties, a series of NDI-T2-based n-type polymers with side chains of 2-hexyldecyl (2HD), 2-octyldodecyl (2OD), and 2-decyltetradecyl (2DT) was synthesized. We performed DSC, and GIXS to investigated the effects of the length of side chains on their crystalline structures. The P(NDI2HD-T2) with the shortest side chains exhibited the noticeable crystalline behaviors with face-on orientation as compared to P(NDI2OD-T2) and P(NDI2DT-T2). Then, we prove that P(NDI2HD-T2) could be more efficient candidate for acceptor materials of all-PSCs than P(NDI2OD-T2) by fabricating all-PSCs with various promising donor polymers such as PPDT2FBT, PTB7, and PTB7-Th, leading to PCEs of 6.11%. This efficiency is the highest value for NDI-T2 based all-PSCs thus far. |
