제목 | The Effects of Baffles in Flask on Cultivation of Methanotroph |
초록 | Transfer of gas including methane and carbon monoxide is one of the most important factors in biological C1 gas conversion process. In the early stage of bioprocess development, the experiments using flasks are preferred since flask cultures are simple and easy to handle various conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a method to supply gas efficiently into medium in these small scale bioreactors. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of gas transfer in baffled- and non-baffled-flask in terms of liquid mixing, kLa and biomass productivity. For this purpose, Methylomonas sp. DH-1 using methane was cultivated. Based on these results, a new baffled flask was designed and prepared using 3-D printer, and its gas transfer performance was compared.
