Bone regenerative procedures, including alveolar ridge preservation, maxillary sinus floor elevation, and guided bone regeneration (GBR), are performed for the purpose of functional aesthetic reconstruction after the extraction of teeth. Varies biomaterials have been applied on preclinical and clinical due to the academic development of tissue regeneration field. Clinicians and researchers are also required to accurately analyze and validate the efficacy of new biomaterials. Recently, various methods for analysis of biomaterials have been introduced. Quantitative analysis methods using microCT have been attempted in addition to conventional histological methods for evaluating the bony performance of biomaterials. In this presentation, I will present to examine capability of new bone formation of various dental materials through synchrotron radiation microtomography (SR-μCT) after various bone regenerative procedures. |
