Preparation of PBT/Clay Nanocomposites using Supercritical Process. |

Recently, polymer/clay nanocomposites have received considerable attention from both fundamental research and application point of view. This polymer/clay nanocomposite system could be followed by the in situ preparation of poly (butylene terephthalate) using a supercritical process. The ring-opening polymerization of butylene terephthalate cyclic oligomers was initiated by cyclic stannoxane 1 was carried out in supercritical chlorodifluoromethane(HCFC-22) at various pressure and temperature range. Chlorodifluoromethane was used as a solvent which has critical point (Tc=96.2℃, Pc=49.7bar). The nanocomposites are characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmisson electron microscopy, capillary viscometer, differential scanning calorimetry. |
