Highly Precise Novel Nanofiber Web-based Dry Electrodes |

Dry electrodes have been developed for many decades in order to overcome the drawbacks of conventional Ag/AgCl gel electrodes, but their applications are still limited. One of main problems is the accuracy of dry electrodes. This study presents silver plated nanofiber web (AgNFw) dry electrodes aimed at high fidelity biopotential recording. The electrode properties of AgNFw dry electrodes were investigated thoroughly using agar phantom systems. Moreover human subject tests were carried out to determine the real performance of AgNFw dry electrode on human body in terms of biopotential recording and EIT measurements. The experimental results showed that AgNFw dry electrode exhibited equivalent performance compared with Ag/AgCl gel electrode. Lastly the some advantages of AgNFw dry electrode were fully discussed to explain why only nanofiber web structure can do.
