Artificial marble(AM) and coal ash(CA) containing various materials such as aluminium trihydroxide(ATH), alumina and silica etc. were used for improving flame retarding properties of polymeric composites. The surfaces of inorganic fillers were modified organic resins such as LDPE, HDPE, PP, ABS to enhance the compatibility and processibility. Their morphologies showed considerable compatibility enhancement of the composites containing EVA coated fillers. LOI(limiting of oxygen index) values of the composites containing CA and AM were in the range of 23 ~ 26 varied with the composition of inorganic fillers and organic resins used. The flame retardency of the composites were graded in UL V-0 or V-1 in the various composition of the ingredients. |
